A Note from Mari Kim Bunnell, MD
I am writing to share that I will be transitioning my clinical practice beginning December 31, 2021 as I take time to celebrate my new role as Grandma and reconnect with my past work in maternal safety. I have had the pleasure of caring for women over the last 35 years and I am proud and grateful to have served as your physician. During 2022, I will continue to answer questions and help you select a new care provider. You may also visit our website, www.neobgyn.org, to view our provider profiles. My primary role will be at Brigham and Women’s Hospital where I will work with the New England OB-GYN physicians in Labor and Delivery.
My focus will also be shifting towards more projects in women’s health and equity. In collaboration with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, I established the Fourth Trimester Fund this year to provide resources to transition women safely through the postpartum period. This is an area of Obstetrics I plan to concentrate my work both in Boston and internationally. I hope you will join me in supporting Brigham and Women’s Hospital through the Fourth Trimester Fund (www.bwhgiving.org/Bunnell).
As many of you know, my daughter, Megan, is now an OB-GYN resident in the combined program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital where I trained 33 years ago. I feel I am safely passing the baton to the next generation of women’s health providers and look forward to the future.
In Health and Happiness,
Mari Kim Bunnell, MD
